The Artists
From an early age, Thilo Kluth showed a natural connection to music, but it was at just 10 years old that he discovered the piano and began developing the foundation of his musical career. Largely self-taught in the beginning, Thilo quickly demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication before pursuing formal piano instruction to further refine his skills. As he progressed through middle and high school, his musicianship expanded beyond piano to include bass clarinet and tenor saxophone, giving him a deep and versatile understanding of music performance and ensemble work.

A defining moment in Thilo’s musical journey came during his freshman year of high school when he attended an intensive summer jazz program. The experience sparked a profound passion for jazz and improvisation, inspiring him to fully immerse himself in jazz studies and the art of creative expression through music. From that point forward, he dedicated himself to mastering improvisation, solo performance, and the dynamic language of jazz.

While performing in his high school jazz band, Thilo formed a powerful musical partnership with drummer Blake Bruning and bassist Brenden Weber, creating the foundation of what would become an exceptional trio. Together, the three musicians developed a chemistry that is immediately apparent in every performance. Blake’s dynamic drumming, Brenden’s strong and melodic bass lines, and Thilo’s expressive piano style combine to create a rhythm section filled with energy, creativity, and musical maturity well beyond their years. Their ability to connect with one another on stage has become a defining characteristic of the trio’s sound and live performances.

Throughout high school, Thilo earned numerous honors and awards recognizing his outstanding musicianship, including accolades from Clackamas Community College, Columbia Basin College, and Clark College jazz festivals and competitions. He concluded his senior year by receiving two scholarships to attend the music program at Clark College and was also honored with the prestigious Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, presented by the music director in recognition of exceptional achievement and leadership in jazz performance.

Today, Thilo continues his musical studies at Clark College while steadily building a strong reputation as both a performer and bandleader throughout the Pacific Northwest. Alongside his trio, he performs regularly at festivals, community events, restaurants, weddings, and corporate functions, bringing a sophisticated yet energetic sound to every stage. Known for his professionalism, artistry, and passion for live performance, Thilo is quickly emerging as one of the region’s promising young jazz musicians. His dedication to the craft and the unmistakable energy of the trio continue to leave lasting impressions on audiences wherever they perform.

Brenden Weber
Brenden is an emerging jazz bassist whose musicianship, dedication, and natural artistry have already earned him recognition throughout the Pacific Northwest jazz community. His journey began early, and at just 13 years old while in the eighth grade, he was invited to substitute on bass with the HHS Jazz Band at the CCC Jazz Festival. That pivotal performance introduced him to Thilo and Blake, ultimately leading to the formation of the Thilo Kluth Trio — a collaboration that would become an important part of his musical development and performance experience.

Now a sophomore at HHS, Brenden returned to the same CCC Jazz Festival in a remarkable full-circle moment, earning the award for Overall Outstanding Festival Musician. In recognition of his exceptional talent and potential, he was also awarded a full tuition scholarship to CCC.

Brenden’s accomplishments at such a young age continue to distinguish him as a bassist. He successfully auditioned twice for the Washington Music Educators Association All-State Jazz Band, earning selection among the top student musicians in the state of Washington and performing alongside elite young jazz artists from across the region.

Further demonstrating his versatility and advanced musicianship, Brenden earned a coveted position in the MYS All Stars Jazz Band, where he studied under acclaimed jazz musician and educator Christopher Brown. His talent and professionalism led to invitations to perform with the Christopher Brown Quartet, a respected ensemble and longstanding staple of the Pacific Northwest jazz scene.

Known for his strong rhythmic foundation, mature improvisational voice, and deep appreciation for traditional and contemporary jazz, Brenden continues to expand his musical horizons through performance, collaboration, and dedicated study. Whether performing in small combo settings, large jazz ensembles, or professional-level collaborations, he brings both technical precision and expressive artistry to every stage.

Looking ahead, Brenden plans to pursue higher education at one of the nation’s premier music institutions, with aspirations of attending Juilliard School or Berklee College of Music to further refine his craft and continue building a career in jazz performance and education.
